What does the Run Off-the-Grid Support?
- Local food bank – we feel it is important to give back to our local community and $5 from each registration is donated to our local Mattawa Food Bank. A collection box will also be available on race day for donations of non-perishable food items.
- Soles4Souls – we have partnered with Bioped Footcare (North Bay) to collect used shoes for Soles4Souls, which is an organization that turns unwanted shoes into opportunity, by keeping them from going to waste and putting them to good use – providing relief, creating jobs and empowering people to break the cycle of poverty. A large collection bin will be available on site at the central grounds. We want to see this bin overflowing with footwear.
- Nature’s Harmony Ecolodge – remaining proceeds from this event are invested back into Nature’s Harmony to further our vision of connecting people with nature and the great outdoors while demonstrating sustainable living practices. The funds raised help us to expand and improve product offerings, including our goal to eventually build a central facility for educational purposes, school programming, hosting workshops and retreats.
